“This right here…” Gibson’s palm rubbed in and out of my legs, over my mound before he gave it a slap and cupped it firmly again. “This is mine. Mine. Chloe. The thought of never having you again made me so fucking desolate today. I don’t want to live if I can’t have you here with me.” His tongue ran the length of his bottom lip and he nibbled my neck. Kissing the back of my shoulders, Gibson breathed out deeply on the back of my neck before biting it gently.
“I thought you said you didn’t bite?” Gibson smirked and positioned himself at my entrance, drawing his dick back and forth and coating it in my juice then began nudging himself into me slowly, “I don’t usually. This is a distraction technique.”
“And I’d be distracted by a small bite on my neck when there is a huge dick sliding into my pussy? You think that’s all it’s going to take to distract me?”
Gibson smirked wickedly, “Well…to be honest I could distract you a hell of a lot more but you’d have to be pretty game for that kind of pleasure.”
I had an arousal overload at Gibson’s wicked taunt. It made my pussy clench tightly with need as his words set off a cascade of signals, which put my body on full alert. My heart had already been racing in effect to him being inside me, but it went into shock at the threat of even more pleasure than I was already feeling.
“Yes?”
“Oh Chloe, you have no fucking idea what I could do to you.”
Gibson started kissing my neck again but didn’t push himself into me any deeper. “So where were we…?”
“You were distracting me from the thick, large metal-clad object poking into my pussy.” I giggled because it felt weird to be joking about that, but he was being playful and it was really hot when he did that.
“I was. So am I biting you again or you think you need more distraction? I mean…just how adventurous are you feeling, darlin’?”
Turning to look at him, and I was thinking that after seeing that picture of Gibson earlier we’d never be here again— but we were, so I had to go with my gut. “Well…of course I am. But— I warn you, it will take something pretty special to take my mind off what is happening between my legs right now.”
Gibson grinned holding my stare, then poked his middle finger into my mouth. “Suck it. Hard.” I did and his dick twitched at my entrance and he spontaneously sunk his dick another inch into me before stopping himself. Making sexy sounds and eyeing my neck again, Gibson, growled. “Fuck.” Growling longer this time, his mouth sucked on my neck while I sucked his finger. “Hot damn, girl, you are so fucking sexy, I could ruin you.”
I looked away as he pulled his finger out, but he took my face in his hand and he turned my head back to stare at him. “Eyes!—keep looking at me. I want to see what I do to you.” Gibson was rocking gently in me but not sinking deeper inside.
“You are it for me, Chloe. You understand that?” I nodded slowly and he grinned, “Keep looking at me just like that, darlin’.” Gibson licked his middle finger again and pulled my body closer, taking it out of his mouth he placed it over my butt-hole and applied gentle pressure. Gibson must have read the fear in my eyes and was quick to respond.
“Relax, I got you. Nothing bad is going to happen.” When he felt that my body was still tense he kissed my neck and whispered softly to me. “Trust me.” I did and I wanted to show Gibson that even if I didn’t like this, I couldn’t really say it until I’d at least tried.
“I do.”
Gibson pulled out of me and placed his dick at the entrance of my butt and I almost flew off the bed. Grinning wickedly his voice half laughing, he quickly reassured me. “Stop, I’m not going to stick it in your ass, I only want to lubricate you.”
My body calmed and in the quiet slow way he handled me I submitted and he placed his dick back at my entrance. Without warning he pushed his dick inside me and his middle finger in my butt at the same time. My butt felt full… a weird feeling at first but not painful. Slowly he began to rock in and out and the sensation was incredible. Gibson pulled my jaw round to see my face and smiled, the sensual sounds he made were so ridiculously sexy. “Slow and easy first time round, Chloe, then the next one is for me, darlin’.”
Changing position, Gibson pulled out and quickly bent to lick my pussy again, before pushing himself deeper inside me again. I could feel him in my stomach when he placed his forehead on mine. “Damn Chloe I waited so long for this and to think I almost ruined it with a few drinks.”
Honest words were tumbling from Gibson while he cradled my head with one hand, telling me what I meant to him— how I made him feel, and all the time he was slowly rocking my world. When he felt I was close there was no need for words, Gibson knew instinctively when to switch it up and suddenly he was pounding into me rapidly, bringing me to a heady shaky release, the sensation reaching from my head to my toes and making me buck in his arms with the force of it.
“Oh, God, Gibson.” When I screamed his name, Gibson smiled at the pleasure he’d given me, smirked knowingly, then touched my clitoris again ordering me to come again. “Do it,” I couldn’t have stopped myself, if I tried. When I came hard he held me tightly, talking softly, telling me how much he loved me.
As I recovered, Gibson was stroking my body again, then he lifted me so that I was sitting up and slid his head under me and pulled my pussy onto his face. I started to protest, but he drank from me and after a minute he changed tact, growling sexily as he rolled me over onto my stomach. He made eye contact with me when I looked over my shoulder then pulled me up onto my knees.
Pushing my shoulders down on the bed he slid himself inside me again. From that point on there was nothing gentle and everything alpha male in his possessive claim on my body. There was nothing tender about it, the bed squeaked and creaked noisily and we were both groaning and moaning loudly. By that point neither of us cared who heard us.
When I woke up Gibson’s cell was ringing. Turning around, I saw Gibson’s bare butt as he crawled towards the end of the bed to find it in his jeans pocket. I felt stiff and winced when I stretched out, quickly pulling my knees up again. Gibson noted my discomfort and slid completely off of the bed. Taking the call as he walked into the bathroom. I heard the tub filling with water.
Whatever the phone call was it must have been important because Gibson got showered while I sat in the tub and when he was done, he wrapped a towel around himself and disappeared back into the bedroom without even noticing I had gotten in there. When he came back he was buttoning down a black shirt with white stud buttons. “Gotta go out. Not sure when I’ll be back, but Chloe I want you to stay home today.”
Something in his voice was different from the other times he had told me to stay home. “What’s going on?” Gibson was trying to act normally but he was a bad liar. I stood up and the water cascaded down my body, as I reached for the rolled up bath robe that was stacked in the pigeon holes over the bath.
“I don’t have time for this, Chloe. Just do what I say, okay?” Gibson was hopping as he tried to pull his boot on and the urgency with how he was getting dressed freaked me out, but I could see that whatever was going on wasn’t good, and my sixth sense told me it had to do with me.
Drying myself off as I ran in front of the door, I threw my arms wide to stop Gibson from leaving, staring up at him anxiously and needing him to tell me what the hell that phone call was about. “Chloe, darlin’, you need to get out of my way. I’m in a hurry.”
“No. This has to do with me…with Kace? Have they found him?”
Gibson rolled his eyes dramatically and rubbed the back of his neck, then looked me square in the eye. “They have. At least… they know where he is right now.”
I felt sick at the thought that he had finally shown himself. “I’m coming.” Pushing Gibson back, I made for the closet returning with a pair of black sweat pants and a grey hooded sweater, pulling them on as I ran back towards the door he had now opened.
“No! I won’t take you anywhere near him. You’re not fucking
coming.”
Panic set because I suddenly thought he was in Colorado. “He’s here? In Colorado?”
Gibson shook his head and held me by my arms at arms-length. “No, Chloe. He isn’t in Colorado, he’s in New York.”
“You’re going to New York? You just sweep in here and sweep back out again? Just like that? You leave me here again, telling me not to go out and you’re going to New York?” My voice was becoming more and more hysterical as I argued my case and Gibson’s frown got more pronounced.
I was desperate to be heard so I delivered an ultimatum to Gibson. “I’m not fucking hiding any more. This has to stop! I’ve been to hell and back and now I need to take some control of the decisions made about my life. My life, Gibson…not my life with you. If you ignore this, then I won’t be here when you come back.”
Gibson looked frustrated and pulling back his shirt sleeve to look at his watch nodded then looked back at me. “Get your coat and meet me in the car.”
“No, wait for me. If you go before I’m ready, I’m serious Gibson, I’m not staying. I’ve been shoved around by one man in my life and that’s one too many. I understand about your fame and everything but this isn’t the same thing.”
Gibson hesitated then nodded in agreement and I grabbed my coat. Emma and Lois were standing in the great room. Gibson watched them staring at him. “What are you fucking looking at? She’s leaving that means you are as well. Get your kit and get in the car.”
Both women ran in the same direction and appeared back with their outdoor wear. Emma pulled a boot on and grabbed her cell from the counter. “What about Ruby?”
Gibson glanced upstairs and looked back at her. “I don’t give a fuck about her. Ruby’s a big girl, there’s plenty of food we’ll… deal with her later. Get in the car.” Looking in my direction Gibson motioned to me to come to him. When I walked over he took my hand and squeezed it tightly. “You sure about this?” I wasn’t but I had to see it through to the end.
“Okay, darlin’, let’s do this.” He opened the door for us to pass. When I saw Johnny and Jerry both at the car as well, it gave me some reassurance that if Kace tried anything these guys would all have my back this time.
CHAPTER 34 - CHASING SHADOWS
Chloe
Fastening the buckle of my seat, Gibson pulled the strap to check it was secure, like I was a child. Reaching around, he fastened his own then took my hand. Immediately, his thumb grazed over mine and he looked at me concerned. “You stay with Jerry and Lois every single minute you got it, Chloe? You go to the John, Jerry goes as well, do you hear me?”
The gravity of the situation we were heading toward could be heard in the tone of his voice. Delivering his order I was being told what he expected. It wasn’t a request. The speed of his words gave away his own anxiety, and the way he looked at me made me offer him reassurance that I would listen and do what he said, and not what whatever came to mind the moment I came face to face with Kace. If anything came to mind.
Reality began to bite the nearer we got and I questioned whether I was strong enough to face him again. Months of painful memories seeing Gibson’s worried face and how helpless he looked trying to reach me. The way his hand rose to touch me only for his fingers to crumple closed and he’d stuff it in his pocket, instead of doing what came naturally to all couples still in the fledgling stages of their relationship.
One good thing to come out of Kace’s warped stunt was that Gibson and I knew the strength of our love for each other, because I had been able to overcome the fearful feelings about men and tried not process only negative thoughts like I had before. Dragging the rational side of my reasoning back to the fore was easier for having Gibson by my side. He had offered me protection and even though he was the last guy on earth I had thought I could trust. I did.
Gibson was quiet during the flight and once in a while his hand gripped mine tightly; which at times felt a tad aggressive, and if I had to hazard a guess, he was trying to deal with his own feelings about breathing the same air as Kace. Johnny and Emma were sitting up at the back of the plane pouring over a map, while Lois and Jerry discussed something on Jerry’s laptop but the sound of their low voices was lost with the hum of the plane and the earbuds I was wearing.
I’d been doing great until I heard the three dings on the cabin bell, to signal our decent. We’d been in the air less than four hours. As soon as we hit 10,000ft I began to feel sick. Nerves were getting the better of me and Gibson was so attuned to me he wasn’t slow to notice.
“Fuck, Chloe. I knew I should have left you back in Colorado. I’m getting Jerry and Lois to take you to Syd’s place when we’re on the ground.”
“No, Gibson. I don’t want that. I really don’t want that. As much as this frightens me, I need to see this through. I need to see that Kace can’t hurt me anymore. If everyone else takes control of that without me, I’ll still look over my shoulder every time I’m alone. Trust me…I need to see this to the end.”
Gibson looked at me with frustration, his jaw ticked twice then his concerned eyes flicked over to look at Lois and Jerry, who had stopped what they were doing to listen to the conversation between Gibson and me. When he looked back at me his worried eyes softened and a silent understanding seemed to pass between us. Licking his lips, Gibson leaned forward, closing the space between us and kissed me softly on my closed mouth. “Isn’t that my line?” Furrowing my brow I wasn’t sure what I’d said.
“Trust me? You sure pick your moments to pull that one out of the hat, darlin’.”
Giving me a soft smile, Gibson was trying to reduce the tension in me with distraction. Chewing the inside of my cheek I didn’t try to hide how maybe seeing Kace was making me feel, but I was determined it had to be done. “I got you, darlin’, I’m never going to let anything bad happen to you again.” Inclining his head in Lois and Jerry’s direction he looked back at me. “They’ve got you. Kace comes anywhere near you he’s a dead man.”
“Where is he?” My voice sounded shaky—weak. Gibson closed his eyes for a second then turned to face me. Releasing his grip on my hand he interlaced his fingers on one hand with mine again.
“Okay, there’s some stuff I need to tell you. Stuff you don’t know, stuff that Jerry and the team of private investigators have been working on. They were getting nowhere using all the usual channels to trace him.
“We didn’t want to go public because we didn’t want more media attention drawn to you, so Syd was trying to draw him out with an offer of work. The search he put out was for a specific type of sound engineer, one so specific with experience that matched Kace’s credentials exactly. The package he was offering was too appealing to a guy like Kace.
“We knew he had been in New York already, and we think he turned your apartment over shortly after the story of us broke in the media. We can’t prove anything with that…he left no prints. Sorry we didn’t tell you about that Chloe, but you were a mess at that point.”
I scowled and it was obvious to Gibson that I didn’t like what I’d heard. Leaning over, Gibson tucked my hair behind my left ear and cupped my face in his hand. “Sorry, darlin’, are you sure you want to hear this?”
Biting my lip I hesitated for a moment then nodded again, “Yeah I need to know what’s been going on, I have loads of questions but I know this isn’t the time.” My heart was banging hard and rapidly in my chest that no one had told me any of this at the time. I was trying to deal with the deception and everyone keeping information about my life from me, but it wasn’t the time to let those feelings get the better of me.
Drawing in a deep breath Gibson exhaled and raked his hand through his hair then began talking again. “So there was the New York connection, then he disappeared…fell off the face of the earth. Charlotte was liaising with the police and Jerry came out to speak to a couple of the detectives to give them the details about Kace and the possible connection.
“When Kace took you in Seattle that was premeditated. He had acquire
d a hotel staff uniform so he could move freely in the building and no one would bat an eyelid. The fact he left you after five days indicates he never intended to keep you somewhere permanent, or something happened that he had to move and it was too risky to take you as well. Or the sick bastard wanted to mind fuck all of us, as well as you. He must have known we’d be looking for you.”
At that point in his conversation, the plane touched down. Gibson was distracted for a moment before he turned back to me and sighed again, then tried to speed up what he was telling me before we transferred to the car.
“Anyway, the reason it’s taken so long to find him is he cleared his bank account out and didn’t use any of the usual monetary and identity tools. So no credit cards, no hired cars, no social security number and no bank withdrawals. He was faceless for months working with cash.”
Puzzled I flexed my fingers against Gibson’s. “So how did you find him? Smirking and looking smug he said, “Syd.” I didn’t understand what he meant. I knew Syd ran a record company they used to be with. I remember when they first started the guy used to do press conferences about M3rCy.
“Remember the job I told you about? Well Syd put the ad out on the websites and Music magazines, and Kacey-boy answered it. He’s running out of money and needs work. Our private investigators had some tech guy figure some shit on the website to track his IP. He was clever but fell down on something that fucking basic. The IP pinpoints him to the address of a Hotel on the upper East side near your apartment, Chloe.”
I froze when I heard how close Kace had stayed to where my home was. If I had left Gibson at any time and returned home alone, the thought that Kace pounced at any time, like he had in the hotel, sent shivers down my spine.
“How do you know he’ll still be there?” Suddenly, my urgency of getting to Kace was as strong as Gibson’s had been back at his cabin.
“We’ve got him covered, darlin’, don’t worry about that. The PI’s that have been tracking him are eyeballing him as we speak. We have the two detectives working on your case already there, and the manager has been tipped to call for backup if he tries to leave the building.”
